Crawl Space Wall Failure in Pocahontas, Arkansas
Challenge
R.D. Girard of Pocahontas, AR has a unique situation. Next to his crawl space is a basement-like area with a short block wall. Settlement was causing this wall to lean. This is especially worrisome because the water heater is stationed in front of the wall. The wall is leaning against the water heater and threatening to dislodge it and cause more damage.
Solution
We installed our PowerBrace™ Wall Stabilization System. These zinc-plated steel beams are custom fitted and tightly secured against the wall with brackets that are anchored to the floor below and the first floor framing above. We installed 5 of these PowerBrace™ beams along the wall, tilting it back into position, pulling it off of the water heater, and permanently stabilizing it.
