Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Stabilization and Protection in Starkville, MS
Shay H. of Starkville, MS bought her home in June 2022. She noticed some sloping on the kitchen floor, cracks on the walls, and doors jamming shut. However, her initial inspection and sellers’ disclosure listed no foundation issues. After bringing out an additional inspector, he was appalled to see the condition of the foundation and crawlspace. It was sinking.
The home was moved to this location and simply set on concrete blocks without proper footings. Everything was leaning toward the back of the home. We installed SmartJacks™ crawl space support jacks around the entire perimeter and on the main beam to take pressure off the failing piers. Then, we performed a full encapsulation system with drain piping to divert water away from the home and keep everything dry. We then applied LumberKote™ wood sealant to bring the humidity in the wood back down to acceptable levels. Finally, we installed a new Everlast XL crawlspace door.
