Dirty Crawl Space in West Point, AR
Challenge
James R. had noticed that the foundation of his home was unstable. He hired other contractors over the years, but the foundation issue would not go away. James and his family even decided to try to work on these issues on their own, but these solutions were only temporary. There was also dirt in the crawl space. Redeemers Group was happy to help James secure his home’s foundation.
Solution
The first task that was completed was to install piers to support the foundation of the home. When soils are unable to bear the load of the structure on top of it, that structure must sink downwards into the ground. This is true with homes, concrete floors, chimneys, and many other structures.
Piers can solve settlement problems by transferring a structure's weight to strong, competent supporting soils at greater depth. Piers can effectively stabilize a settling structure and can even provide jacking points to lift the structure upwards to its original, level position.
One of the main components of the crawl space solution included the installation of the SuperSump® pump System and the CleanSpace® System. This system is essential to keeping any basement or crawlspace dry. The SuperSump® pump system is specifically designed to handle the amount of water that a basement collects during heavy rains. It can pump 2220 gallons per hour at an 8-foot discharge head quietly and efficiently.
The CleanSpace® System separates and protects the crawl space interior from outdoor conditions, keeping the space clean and dry. With a 25-year warranty against rips and tears, this durable 20-milpoly-reinforced crawl space liner converts your crawl space into a usable storage area. And with its mold-resistant additive "UltraFresh", CleanSpace® will never support mildew or mold growth on its surface.
Once this was completed; James’ home was foundation problem free. We are thrilled that we could help James and his family.
