Water leaking into basement, Armory, MS
Challenge
Water visibly coming in to the client's basement below the base of the wall, and the sheetrock and studs are covered in black mold. Sheetrock and wood studs are organic, porous materials that will wick up water that is leaking in. Over time, they will mold. In the pictures, you can see the water below the base of the wall, the black mold on the sheetrock, and the water that is sitting on and damaging the basement foor.
Solution
(See photos.) The production team cut out the sheetrock that had been affected by black mold, and removed the studs and sealplate. They jackhammered below the seal plate, and put an interior drainage system in the concrete. Going forward, the drainage system will carry water back out of the house. Once the system was in place, they built back the studs and replaced the area of sheetrock that had been removed (with new sheetrock).
