Over the past few weeks, the team has convened and read Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy Seals Lead and Win by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin. Each week we have read a chapter and discussed principles that resonated with us from the book.
“This book taught me that if a team I am over fails, it is my fault and I need to move to correct that. No matter what happened, I in some way would be at fault. That is okay, and it will teach me to do better and do my team better in the future,” says Customer Advocate Bobbi Jo.
There is a reoccurring theme of teamwork and taking ownership within that team. This is extremely important at Redeemers Group because as a team, we are held responsible for being the best in our industry. We know that to do this, our team must be able to use our leadership skills to collectively support each other and the business.
“The book gives great insight on what extreme leadership should look like. I appreciate how it breakdowns potential issues that could and usually always arise in a business type environment. It requires one to understand what it takes to be a leader and applies accountability and appropriate responses to certain situations,” says Service Coordinator, Angel.
The #RedefineBookClub has always given the team a way to discuss opportunities for both professional and personal growth and development. We set a gift of high expectations on people, but we do it with the love and belief that they can accomplish anything that they put their mind to.
