A beautiful Lakeland, TN home experiencing settlement issues
The owner of this home had tried multiple things with multple competitors that ultimately failed at providing a solution to settlement issues.
The original diagram drawn up for the project.
Specialist, Dan Brenner, laid out for the homeowner where the push piers and PolyLEVEL would be used to permanently solve the settlement issues
Slope along the house making the process more difficult
The slope on the west side of the house prevented us from getting an excavator to dig the holes that were needed.
Discovering the actual foundation type
Realizing the home did not have a monolithic slab as originally told by the homeowner.
Bending steel: not supposed to happen
The bending of the steel made it clear there was something very different going on with this project.
More bent steel
The bending of the steel made it clear there was something very different going on with this project.
The culprit for the bent steel: a concrete underpinning poured by a competitor
As the crew worked, they uncovered something not previously disclosed: that a competitor had previously sold the home owner on trying to lift the house by pouring a concrete underpinning.

In the process of removing the concrete underpinning
Crews work to remove the failed solution of a concrete underpinning put in by a competitor
A failed RamJack helical pier was uncovered during the process
Once the underpinning was removed, the crews discovered a different attempt to fix the settlement issues. Pictured is a failed RamJack pier that was uncovered during the process.
