You Can't Cover Foundation Settlement
Challenge
This customer was experiencing both interior and exterior wall cracking. These are telltale signs of foundation settlement. As seen in the photos, the customer filled in the exterior cracks in the mortar, thinking that this was a cosmetic problem, but this is not the case. Stair-step cracking like this is usually an indicator that your foundation is settling, and your home is sinking. Appropriate measures should be taken to stop this and to stabilize the home for the safety of the occupants.
Solution
This customer needs a permanent solution to his foundation settlement problem. Our push pier system is the best method to fix these issues. We would install push piers on the perimeter of the home. Our push piers are driven deep into the ground until they reach what is called "load bearing strata". This is commonly referred to as "bedrock". When they reach this strata, they can go no further. The home is attached to the piers with a special bracket. Then the system is pressurized, pushing down on the earth, lifting the home. This system will permanently stabilize the home. After this process, we can address the cosmetic side of the cracking.
